Lumigenex's ongoing efforts to evaluate COVID-19 mutations and confirm that its antigen rapid tests continue to detect COVID-19 variants such as Omicron Variant (B.1.1.529).

Laboratory testing of our PocRoc COVID-19 rapid antigen tests showed "significantly outperforms" in the detection of SARS-CoV-2 variants including the omicron variant. PocRoc COVID-19 antigen rapid test, which is currently approved in Thailand and is CE marked in Europe, was able to detect the omicron N protein "at a significantly lower level" in a laboratory setting.

We continuously monitor the evolution and activity of COVID-19 variants in circulation, and the Omicron variant is no exception. Recent lab study indicated that data generated in preliminary laboratory studies, with heat-inactivated Omicron samples, suggested that the PocRoc antigen tests were able to detect the Omicron variant with similar performance as with other variants. Field testing has now been conducted by all-comers using nasal swab samples. The data also suggest that the PocRoc antigen tests are able to detect the live Omicron variant with similar performance as with other variants.
